Deadline reports that Stanley Tucci and Anne Heche have joined the cast of the action thriller HEAT, based on the novel by William Goldman. The actors will join Jason Statham, Cedric the Entertainer, Hope Davis and Milo Ventimiglia, Sophia Vergara, Michael Angarano, and Dominik Garcia-Lorido.
The story follows Statham's character Nick, described as "a gambling addict and ex-mercenary working for hire in Vegas." Production is currently underway on location in New Orleans. Simon West well helm the film while Statham makes his producing debut along with Steven Chasman.
Tucci made his Broadway debut in The Queen and the Rebels on September 30, 1982. Tucci is known for his work in films such as The Pelican Brief, Kiss of Death, Road to Perdition and Big Night, and in the television series Murder One as the mysterious Richard Cross.
He also received a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Winchell. He was nominated for Broadway's Tony Award as Best Actor in a Play for his role as Johnny in the 2002 revival of Terrence McNally's Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune.
Heche was most recently seen on TV in the role of Jessica on HBO's Hung. Tony nominated for her role in Proof on Broadway, Heche also appeared on the Great White Way in Twentieth Century. She has won an Emmy Award for Another World and has appeared in such films as "The Juror" (1996), "Walking and Talking' with Catherine Keener (1996), "Donnie Brasco" opposite Johnny Depp (1997), "Volcano," and Barry Levinson's political satire "Wag the Dog" (1997).
