Spotlight Pictures has announced a slate of five new films at the Cannes Film Festival. These films include the coming of age drama YOSEMITE starring James Franco and Henry Hopper; the animated family film POLAR ADVENTURE; the romantic comedy ELY AND NAOMI'S NO KISS LIST starring Victoria Justice; HITS directed by David Cross and starring Michael Cera, Amy Sedaris and Julia Stiles; and the British comedy CHICKLIT starring Academy Award Nominee John Hurt along with Christian McKay, Dakota Blue Richards. This new Spotlight slate reflects the company's aggressive ambition to bring larger and more commercial product to the marketplace. Matt McCombs, Spotlight CEO made the announcement today.
"We're thrilled to announce such a strong line up in our upcoming slate," said McCombs. "They not only have a star-studded and talented cast, but the themes of the films offer something for everyone." The coming of age film YOSEMITE follows two young boys as they journey to California's Yosemite Park with their father. The film is produced by James Franco's Rabbit Bandini Productions. This is the fourth collaboration between Spotlight and Rabbit Bandini, which include THE COLOR OF TIME starring Franco, Mila Kunis and Jessica Chastain. The animated family film POLAR ADVENTURE follows a lovable penguin, who returns to his home in the South Pole in search of his missing grandfather. The film is produced by Ori Animation, a leader in animation in China. POLAR ADVENTURE will be released on 3,000 screens in China this summer and Spotlight is currently working on the English-language dub of the picture.Videos
