Film Movement (www.filmmovement.com), the distributor of award-winning independent and foreign films, announces today that THE IRAN JOB, the critically-acclaimed sports documentary that follows charismatic basketball player Kevin Sheppard's year playing in Iran at the height of the Arab Spring, will be released on DVD on March 4th in North America, the perfect complement to the highly-anticipated March Madness basketball season.

A film by Iranian-American producer Sara Nodjoumi and director Till Schauder, THE IRAN JOB explores Sheppard's culture shock when he is contracted to play professional basketball in a country reeling in political and religious turmoil. His efforts to lead a rag-tag basketball team to victory despite language and athletic differences; the close friendships he develops with three young Iranian women under the restrictive thumb of a dictator; and his wide-eyed, firsthand perspective on a society typically only seen by Americans on cable news networks all provide a sharply-focused lens into the tumultuous first days of the Green Revolution, when progressive young Iranians protested their government in the streets to no avail. Available on DVD on March 4 at FilmMovement.com, Amazon.com and other retailers, THE IRAN JOB has raised global eyebrows since its world premiere at the Los Angeles Film Festival and a successful theatrical run in summer 2013. Also available on digital platforms including iTunes and Amazon Instant, The Huffington Post calls THE IRAN JOB "a testament to how sports can serve as a common, uniting language between nations and cultures."
