According to the Hollywood Reporter, Spike TV has cancelled its long-running series BLUE MOUNTAIN STATE.

The comedy series, which was filmed in Montreal, followed the adventures of a college football team. The show ran for 39 episodes over three seasons and centered on three college freshmen football players who attended a huge Midwestern University. The series portrayed the difficulties of college life and the struggles which ensued when the young students attempted to juggle football, classes, fraternity hazing and women.

The sitcom was from Lionsgate Television and Varsity Pictures. Brian Robbins (Smallville) and Sharla Sumpter-Bridgett (Wild Hogs) served as the show's executive producers.
