Due to unprecedented demand from Spice Girls fans across the UK (and beyond!), we are pleased to announce the next stop as #SpiceUpLondon prepares to go nationwide.#SpiceUpManchester An Exhibition About The Spice Girls will run from 24th August through to 4th September 2018 at Manchester Central Convention Centre where music and fashion alike are poised to unleash their inner Spice Girl!
#SpiceUpManchester will be showcasing thousands of items of memorabilia, alongside hundreds of the Fab Five's iconic stage costumes as part of a celebration of, and tribute to, the biggest girl-group of all time.
In addition to displaying merchandise from around the globe - ranging from the rare and unseen to the peculiar and unusual - the exhibition will be showcasing just how significantly and successfully the Spice Girls went from band to brand on a scale that truly took over the world!
The exhibition will be the centrepiece of a whole host of events that aim to do exactly what the hashtag says; Spice up Manchester! Details of other events and surprises will be announced in due course as #SpiceUpManchester plans to pay the biggest tribute to the most exciting girl group sensation the world has ever seen.
Alan Smith-Allison, the curator of the events said, "After the phenomenal reaction to #SpiceUpLondon, and the massive appetite for unapologetic cheesy feel-good fun, the SpiceUp exhibition is delighted to announce the second stop of our UK tour will be Manchester.
#SpiceUpManchester will take place at Manchester Central from 24th August until 4th September 2018. The biggest music exhibition ever has just become the biggest touring music exhibition ever! Hold on to your knickers Manchester, Girl Power is coming at ya!"
Smith-Allison has teamed up with renowned Spice Girls collectors from around the world, including Manchester's own Guinness World Record holder, artist Liz West, who owns over 5,000 individual items ranging from branded crisp packets and clocks, to the jacket Mel B herself wore to meet Nelson Mandela.
The success of the London event thus far has been remarkable, with ticket sales skyrocketing, and mega fans travelling from as far as Mexico and Canada to experience what is sure to be the biggest music exhibition ever created.
And as an exceptional treat for those attending, the original Spice Bus which appeared in the smash hit 1999 Spice Girls blockbuster 'Spice World: The Movie' will be making an extra special appearance, proudly on display as an iconic landmark outside the#SpiceUpManchester Exhibition.
After the filming of the movie was completed, the bus was unfortunately neglected. However, the current owners of the bus in the Isle of Wight have decided to undertake restoration in order to restore it to its former glory, so that it may sit proudly outside the exhibition to be enjoyed by fans.
Additionally, fans themselves are being invited to be part of the restorations by donating to#RefurbTheBus, so that their names may be added to a plaque inside the bus and they can forever become a part of Spice Girls history.
You can donate to the restoration project here.
It's time to let your inner Spice Girl run wild and dance your way into Spice World for a glamorous, glittery, fun-filled trip down Girl Power memory lane. www.spicegirls-exhibition.com
