Sony Pictures Television, one of the television industry's leading content providers, garnered five wins at the 40 th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards earlier this evening, nabbing top honors for Outstanding Talk Show/Informational for The Dr. Oz Show and Outstanding Drama Series for Days of our Lives.
The Dr. Oz Show, which will be entering into its fifth season in September, took home the Emmy for Outstanding Talk Show/Informational for the third consecutive year. The Dr. Oz Show production team is led by executive producers Mindy Borman and Amy Chiaro.

The Dr. Oz Show, which is currently seen in 118 countries worldwide, debuted domestically in 2009 with the biggest ratings in nine years in daytime television. Cleared in over 99% of the country, The Dr. Oz Show is co-produced by Harpo Productions and Sony Pictures Television (SPT) and distributed by SPT.
Sony also received multiple daytime Emmy nods for their perennial favorite soap operas - The Young and the Restless and Days of our Lives, earning a total of four awards for the two shows, including the award for Outstanding Drama Series for Days of our Lives. This marks the show's second win in this category. Days of our Lives is helmed by executive producer Ken Corday with co-executive producers Greg Meng and Lisa De Cazotte.

Other honors for The Young and the Restless included Doug Davidson's win for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series and Billy Miller for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. Chandler Massey of Days of our Lives won Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series.
Days of our Lives and The Young and the Restless also garnered several awards at the Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards held on Friday, June 14. These included awards for Outstanding Original Song for a Drama Series for "Only Love Goes On Forever" from The Young and the Restless, as well as kudos for lighting, casting, sound mixing and makeup among others.
"The Young and the Restless," now in its 40 th year on air, has been the #1-rated daytime drama for more than 24 years. "The Young and the Restless" remains as topical and revolutionary as it has been through 40 years (as of March 26, 2013), entertaining as well as educating its audience daily on a variety of topics, which have included alcoholism, smoking, breast cancer awareness, sexual harassment, date rape, illiteracy, HIV drug testing, domestic violence, drug addiction, Internet predators and foster care. Y&R has been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades including multiple NAACP Image Awards and Peoples' Choice Awards for Outstanding Daytime Drama. Y&R has garnered 434 Daytime Emmy nominations and is the only daytime drama to have received 123 Daytime Emmy Awards. Three actors from the acclaimed series have received stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame include Jeanne Cooper in 1995, Eric Braeden in 2007, and Kate Linder in 2008. The show is broadcast weekdays on the CBS Television Network and is produced by Bell Dramatic Serial Company, in association with Sony Pictures Television.
