As Hollywood gets ready for its big night with The Academy Awards on Sunday, February 24, Sony Movie Channel (SMC) is providing die-hard movie buffs with a month-long Oscar celebration. Starting February 1 through the 28th, SMC is airing films daily that either won an Oscar or were nominated.
True film aficionados will enjoy using SMC's easy-to-follow Oscar-A-Day calendar to see what's on that day. The Channel is also highlighting Oscar movies by posting interesting facts every day in February on its Facebook page (Facebook.com/SonyMovieChannel).
SMC has curated an outstanding schedule of memorable motion pictures dating as far back as Frank Capra 's Best Picture Award-winner IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT from 1934 and MR. DEEDS GOES TO TOWN from 1936, which won for Best Director. The schedule also includes Best Picture winners A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS from 1966 and OLIVER! from 1968.
