Society of Voice Arts and Sciences Announces the 1st Annual Voice Arts Awards

At last, one of the hardest working groups of professionals in the entertainment industry is finally getting some well-deserved recognition! The 1 st Annual Voice Arts Awards, presented by the Society of Voice Arts And Sciences (SOVAS), is the award competition for the Voiceover industry. The Early Bird entry deadline is June 17, 2014 and voiceover professionals may enter the competition today at www.VoiceArts.org. And we do mean the - currently, The Voice Arts Awards is the only major award competition dedicated to honoring and acknowledging all those who create and sustain excellence within the Voiceover industry.

In addition, The Voice Arts Awards will look to identify the next generation of voice actors with five categories that highlight student productions, and the talented collegians who lend their voices to the performance.

So, attention all voice actors, creative directors, promo producers, copywriters, casting directors, talent agents, directors, audio engineers, account executives, podcasters and others who create and sustain excellence within the Voiceover industry The Voice Arts Award competition is open and ready to recognize you!

About The Voice Arts Awards

The inaugural Voice Arts Award was awarded to 2-time Emmy-winner, Keith David at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles on August 17, 2013. This fall SOVAS will launch the 1 st Annual Voice Arts Awards Gala as the spectacular kickoffto That's Voiceover!, the annual, full-day voiceover conference and career expo on November 9 th and 10 th. For four years, That's Voiceover!, the nationally successful voiceover conference and seminar, has engaged a whole new audience of voice actors, entertainment and marketing professionals seeking insight into a heretofore anonymous industry which is now emerging as a new frontier for gainful employment across multiple disciplines.

The purpose of The Voice Arts Awards is to provide international acknowledgement of the extraordinary skill and artistry that goes into voiceover acting and the associated industry professions as well as to encourage a best-in-class standard of achievement to which the Voiceover industry can continually aspire.

About the Society of Voice Arts and Sciences

The Society of Voice Arts and Sciences (SOVAS) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation dedicated to the acknowledgment, recognition and advancement of voiceover actors and the associated professionals (casting directors, producers, creative directors, agents and coaches), who make up what is generally described as the Voiceover industry.

Among the SOVAS board members are SOVAS founders, Joan Baker, author of Secrets of Voice-over Success, and Rudy Gaskins, Emmy Award-winning producer and executive producer of That's Voiceover!. Steve Ulrich, Executive Director of the Sports Emmy Awards and himself a five-time Emmy winner, plus Stephen McCarthy, CEO/founder of Brave Dog, a unique enterprise specializing in international award submissions for major broadcast and cable networks, round off the leadership team. McCarthy was formerly the head of the Promax/BDA Awards program and awards show.
