English-language sci-fi film 'Snowpiercer' by South Korea's Bong Joon Ho, is set to recieve a theatrical release next month in mainland China.

The film, which stars Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton, Ed Harris and Song Kang-ho, depicts a peasant revolt on an incessantly moving train which is the last bastion of humanity in an icy futuristic world.

It is being imported through China's quota system and will be released as a revenue sharing title byChina Film Group in March. A precise date is being finalized and may be known next week.

It is currently unclear what, if any, parts of the movie will be trimmed by Chinese censors ahead of release.

The Weinstein Company has rights to "Snowpiercer" in North America, but arguments over how to trim it for U.S. audience tastes have left it without a release date.

The film was released in South Korea by CJ Entertainment and achieved a box office gross of some $60 million.

Next Hollywood release in China is Sony's "Robocop," set for a Feb. 28 outing through China Film Group, followed by Relativity Media's animation Free Birds, which is set for a Mar. 7 start under Huaxia Distribution.

Other titles penciled in for March releases include David O. Russell's crime drama "American Hustle," George Clooney's "The Monuments Men," Luc Besson's Robert DeNiro and Michelle Pfeiffer-starring "The Family" and Gary Fleder's crime thriller "Homefront." All will be handled by China Film Group.

Other upcoming imports include hit Hong Kong youth movie "The Way We Dance," set to break its way into mainland theaters on Feb. 28, as well as Korean drama "My Wish" and Chinese-Japanese animation co-production "Ikkyu San," both on unspecified March dates.
