The 11 strangers on this unforgettable journey include small-town brothers that have never left the U.S., estranged twin sisters, a soul-searching divorcée and a woman on her 13th engagement deciding whether to take the plunge. These everyday tourists-turned-adventurers will be pushed to their limits and quickly realize that life begins at the end of their comfort zone. When these travelers experience a different world for the first time, emotions are magnified with fish-out-of-water moments as Brandon, Rachel and Sandhurst challenge them to turn off their cell phones and awaken their minds to thrilling new cultures. Like any vacation, the best and worst are sure to come out with a wild mix of personalities who have chosen to disrupt their routine lives and venture abroad in foreign surroundings. Nevertheless, memories are made and footprints are left with romantic rendezvous under the Moroccan sun and drama unfolding in seven-star resorts from Kenya to Japan.
MEET THE TOUR GUIDES:
Brandon Presser
Brandon is an award-winning travel expert who has visited more than 100 countries, written more than 50 travel books, and firmly accrued a lifetime's worth of experiences along the way. He earned his stripes as a professional nomad in Paris while working at the Louvre museum, in Tokyo as an architectural apprentice, and in Thailand as a scuba diving professional. From there, Brandon secured his reputation as an adventure prodigy when he became the youngest person to join the coveted team of writers at Lonely Planet, the world's most prominent travel brand. Today, Brandon contributes to a variety of prestigious publications including Travel + Leisure and The Daily Beast, and leads worldwide expeditions for elite jet-setters. Brandon has become one of the foremost authorities on both five-star luxury and grass roots travel-he is just as comfortable trekking through the backwaters of Borneo as he is on the beaches of Bora Bora.
Rachel Grant
Rachel is a travel expert, photographer, blogger and correspondent, and has traveled to more than 50 countries. She's put together travel itineraries and tours to such exotic locales as Bali, Indonesia, the Amazon, the Galapagos Islands, the Philippines, Vietnam, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, Belize and Guatemala. Whenever she finds herself leading an expedition to an uncharted destination, Rachel schools her party in the local customs and traditions. In her hands, travelers should be prepared to immerse themselves in the heart of the culture and embrace it full force; she insists that her travelers experience each new region with all five senses. Although Rachel enjoys pampering and luxurious accommodations, she's not a fan of wasting time by sunbathing on a beach. Instead, she prefers to plan her days with thrill-seeking excursions that start at the crack of dawn.
Sandhurst Miggins
A former international model and dancer from
THE ISLAND of Tobago, Sandhurst currently works for one of the leading US-based-international airlines, specializing in customer service to their first-class and VIP passengers. An avid traveler himself, Sandhurst has performed and modeled around the globe, from Russia to Australia, the Greek Islands to the Caribbean Islands. These earlier experiences have inspired him to continue to explore the world by landing a career in the luxury travel industry. Known as a "daycation" specialist, Sandhurst aims to please. Beyond trying to anticipate the needs of his clients, Sandhurst wants them to feel comfortable coming to him with their wildest fantasies. According to Sandhurst, by shedding their inhibitions and insecurities, his travelers will learn to be more bold and confident as they take on the world.
