Smithsonian Networks has just launched a new subscription video streaming service delivering spectacular original nature and wildlife content. The stand-alone ad-free service SMITHSONIAN EARTH will bring viewers closer than ever before to nature's most remarkable animals and wildest locations. The announcement was made today by Tom Hayden, President of Smithsonian Networks.
"With SMITHSONIAN EARTH we are looking to satisfy the strong consumer demand for visually stunning unique nature and wildlife programming," said Hayden. "Subscribers to this service can view the beauty and diversity of the natural world across multiple platforms and in spectacular 4K."
SMITHSONIAN EARTH is available to watch in both HD and Ultra HD (4K) resolution to users with compatible devices and televisions. Subscribers can watch a wide array of all new original programs, refreshed on a weekly basis, which includes documentaries and short series that explore everything from the sea life of Socorro Island to the creatures of Madagascar and active volcanoes in Ethiopia. Subscribers also will be able to immerse themselves in some of the most breathtaking and wildest places on earth with Nature Scenes, striking videos of the world's natural wonders.
Customers with Roku players, including the new Roku 4, player and Roku TV models, can subscribe through the SMITHSONIAN EARTH app for $3.99 a month. The Roku 4 streaming player is the first device to support streaming of SMITHSONIAN EARTH 4K content.
SMITHSONIAN EARTH is also available on the App Store on the all-new Apple TV for $3.99 a month. Additional platforms will be announced soon.
SMITHSONIAN EARTH is offering a free 7-day trial subscription to new customers.
