Sky Vision has secured the distribution rights to The Flatey Enigma, a series based on the popular book by Viktor Arnar Ingolfsson. The series is produced by Sagafilm, the leading independent production company in Iceland, in co-production with Reykjavik Films and collaboration with RÚV. Sky Vision, the distribution arm of Sky, has secured the distribution rights to the upcoming mystery crime drama series THE FLATEY ENIGMA.

The 4x52 minute series set in the early seventies is based on the widely distributed novel by Viktor Anar Ingolfsson. The Flatey Enigma is produced by Sagafilm, in co-production with Reykjavik Films for RÚV and in collaboration with all the state broadcasters in Scandinavia, DR, SVT, YLE and NRK.

"Sky Vision is known to take on ambitious and grand projects and the fact that Flateyjargáta is amongst them proves that we have a strong series that the market is excited about and we are happy to bring this grasping story to the screen." says Hilmar Sigurðsson, CEO of Sagafilm.

Moreyba Bidessie, Scripted Acquisitions Manager, Sky Vision, said "We're very excited to have secured the distribution rights for this wonderful project. The Flatey Enigma is a
compelling story that draws viewers in to an estranged daughter, who must exonerate herself, proving her innocent and is forced to confront her deepest fears. We know international audiences love Nordic drama and I'm sure this will be a success for Sky Vision and Sagafilm."

The series has secured financing from The Icelandic Film Fund and Creative Media. It will be directed by award winning director, Björn B. Björnsson (Cold Trail, I Hunt Men), and was written by Margrét Örnólfsdóttir (Prisoners, Pressa, Rettur, Black Angles).

Logline - The Flatey Enigma: In 1970, Johanna, a professor of Nordic Studies is accused of murder and to prove her innocence she has to solve a riddle in a medieval manuscript, The Flatey Enigma. On top of that Johanna now has to face her deepest fear; the man she ran away from ten years ago.
