Simon Baker to Direct an Episode of THE MENTALIST

Richard Redlin (actor, producer, writer, director) will guest star on THE MENTALIST episode #3.9  "Red Moon" (scheduled air date November 18th) as Joe Hunniker, a Vietnam vet who uses a wheelchair and a shot gun to defend what's left of his family. Written by series creator Bruno Heller, Simon Baker directs his first episode of THE MENTALIST.
 
Richard Redlin has overcome a physical disability himself following an accident at age 22 that threatened to confine him to a wheelchair for life. He now walks strong with leg braces and crutches and has gone on to produce, write, direct and act in TRUST ME which garnered two BACKStage West Garland Award nominations (Best Writing & Best Actress) also the short film LEGS starring Robert David Hall (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation) (Hall is the National Chair of the Tri-Union Performers With Disability Committee). Richard produced SUDS 'The Rockin' Sixties Musical Soap Opera' off-Broadway and subsequent National Tour. He produced / acted in CAROLE'S EVE with Alicia Silverstone and Allen Garfield.
 
Besides his upcoming episode of THE MENTALIST, Redlin has guest starred on FRASIER, SEVENTH HEAVEN, MAD ABOUT YOU, NASH BRIDGES, PACIFIC BLUE, SISTERS, DIAGNOSIS MURDER, HART TO HART and others as well as substantial work in his first love, theatre.
 
Right now Redlin's creating the ultra-diverse comedy LEADER OF THE PACK web series (with GLEE star Lauren Potter as a series regular). THE MENTALIST is produced by PrimRose Hill Productions in association with Warner Bros. and created by Executive Producer Bruno Heller. It airs Thursday nights on CBS.
