Showtime Networks has promoted Julia Veale to the role of Executive Vice President, Business, Product Development and Management. The announcement was made today by Tom Christie, Chief Operating Officer, Showtime Networks Inc. (SNI), to whom she reports. Veale will continue to be responsible for product strategy, product development and product management for Showtime subscription services across distribution platforms, technologies, and devices including the Showtime streaming service, Showtime ANYTIME, SNI's On Demand services and MVPD partners' TV Everywhere services. She will also continue to develop new business opportunities.

"Julia's unique combination of talents, which blend long-term strategic vision with an UNCOMPROMISING attention to detail, has helped guide the Company's business and product development efforts for over a decade," said Christie. "Under Julia's leadership, Showtime has demonstrated a near flawless introduction of products starting from subscription video on demand many years ago, to the Showtime ANYTIME TV Everywhere launch, and of course most recently the Showtime stand-alone streaming service on key internet platforms."

Veale previously served as Senior Vice President, Business, Product Development and Management. Under her leadership, Showtime Networks built a dedicated in-house product team to redefine the way consumers subscribe to and experience SHOWTIME. Her team successfully launched a new streaming service last year, which is currently available through Amazon, Apple®, Google and Roku, as well as through Hulu, Sony Playstation Vue and Amazon Prime Video. The Showtime stand-alone streaming service was named to several "Best of 2015 Apps" lists. In addition, her team developed and launched Showtime ANYTIME, the network's authentication service. Showtime ANYTIME now serves nearly 100% of Showtime subscribers across the network's cable, DBS and telco distributors. The Showtime ANYTIME service is available on web, mobile, TV streaming devices and game consoles with millions of app downloads and registered users. Showtime was the first premium network to offer live TV viewing on their authentication service, and the only network to offer a live feed on its streaming service.

During her tenure at SHOWTIME, Veale has also been a key player in the development and launch of several strategic initiatives, including SNI's On Demand services, HD multiplex channels and interactive TV activities. She has been an instrumental part of the network's stand-alone streaming service negotiations with key internet partners, and the formation of the joint venture with the Smithsonian Institution to create Smithsonian Networks.

Prior to joining SHOWTIME, she served as Director, Corporate Development for General Instrument Corporation, where she worked to diversify the company into new markets, including the launch of the company's cable modem business. She also served as a Vice President for European American Bank.

Veale received her M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and holds a B.A. from Trinity College.
