Showtime Honored with Five Golden Globe Nominations  Image

This morning, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association honored Showtime with five Golden Globe nominations, including top honors for freshman comedy SMILF. The network also received four lead acting nominations including nods for TWIN PEAKS star Kyle MacLachlan, SMILF star Frankie Shaw, SHAMELESS star William H. Macy and RAY DONOVAN's Liev Schreiber. This is Schreiber's fifth consecutive nomination for RAY DONOVAN, honored for every season of the series.

SMILF was honored with a series nomination for Best Television Series, Comedy or Musical. Creator, star and executive producer Frankie Shaw was also honored with her first Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Lead Role, Comedy or Musical for her role as "Bridgette Bird." Recently picked up for a second season, SMILF airs on Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

Kyle MacLachlan was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for portraying multiple roles on the critically lauded 18-part limited event series TWIN PEAKS. This is MacLachlan's second nomination for TWIN PEAKS, after being previously nominated for his role as Agent Dale Cooper in the original series run.

Liev Schreiber received his fifth consecutive Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series, Drama nomination for his role as the title character on the hit series RAY DONOVAN. He is five for five on nominations, receiving top honors for every season of the series. This is Schreiber's sixth Golden Globe nomination overall, having been previously nominated for his work on RKO 281. RAY DONOVAN will return in 2018 for a sixth season.

For the second year, SHAMELESS star William H. Macy was honored with a nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series, Comedy or Musical for his role as "Frank Gallagher." This is Macy's fifth Golden Globe nomination overall. Season eight of SHAMELESS airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

The 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Seth Meyers, will air on Sunday, January 7, 2018, LIVE coast-to-coast from Beverly Hills, CA. The 75th Annual GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS is produced by dick clark productions in association with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
