"Check Please" is an 8-minute comedic short film about the battle between two prideful men over who gets to pay the check after a dinner out. The film was shot at Jekyll's Kitchen, a restaurant in Chagrin Falls, OH and stars Los Angeles-based actor, Jared Ward (Homeland, The Exes).
In addition to "Check Please," Cleveland native Geoffrey James has written, directed, and produced two other short films. At 13, Geoffrey wrote, directed, produced, and edited a yo-yo documentary entitled The Game Has Changed. The film won Best Student Documentary at the Chagrin Documentary Film Festival. In the summer of 2012, the then 14-year old Geoffrey wrote, directed, and produced his first narrative short entitled Marty. Marty garnered several accolades, including awards from the Honolulu International Film Festival and the Best Shorts Competition. It was also selected for the 17th annual SAFILM - San Antonio Film Festival.
Geoffrey is currently a Sophomore at University School in Hunting Valley, OH. When not working on films, he enjoys acting in his school plays/musicals, playing soccer and basketball, playing the guitar and singing, and competitive yo-yoing.
