Oscar winner and beloved actress, Shirley MacLaine, is reportedly in talks to join BRIDESMAIDES' Melissa McCarthy in the upcoming road-trip flick, TAMMY. MacLaine is said to have been offered the role, and is having a one-on-one with McCarthy, who also co-wrote the movie for New Line, tonight.

Co-written with her husband, BEN FALCONE, TAMMY follows a woman who's suddenly fired from Hardee's, discovers her husband is cheating, and decides to go on a road trip with her drunken, cursing grandmother.

Shirley MacLaine's career comprises more than 50 feature films highlighted by an Academy Award(®) win and six nominations, six Emmy(®) Awards nominations, seven Golden Globe(®) Awards - including the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award - and the title of international best-selling author.

McCarthy is most well known for her role in 2011' BRIDESMAIDS, but has made a career for herself on the small screen as well, on GILMORE GIRLS and MIKE & MOLLY.
