The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has announced that Seth Meyers will serve as host of the 75th GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS ceremony. The LATE NIGHT host follows in the footsteps of other SNL alum who have hosted the event, including Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and most recently Jimmy Fallon.
In a statement, HFPA President Meher Tatna commented: "The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is excited to have Seth Meyers host the 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards. With his natural comedic wit and innate ability to charm audiences, Seth will help us carry on the celebratory tradition of recognizing the best in television and film at the Party of the Year." The writer-comedian is a 12-year veteran of Saturday Night Live, both in the writers' room and behind the desk of "Weekend Update". Meyers served as head writer for NBC's SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, and served as anchor for the sketch comedy's "Weekend Update" segment. He has previously hosted the 2010 ESPY AWARDS and the Prime Time Emmys in 2014.Source: goldenglobes.com
