Going up against the sixth and deciding game of the NBA Finals, the Season 2 premiere of TYRANT posted a strong debut with the highest Live+Same Day to Live+3 lift of any FX original season premiere in both Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers. The S2 premiere on June 16th received a +149% Live+3 lift among Adults 18-49 (376,000 to 935,000) and a +121% Live+3 lift for Total Viewers (1.06 million to 2.35 million). This made the S2 premiere of Tyrant, from Emmy® and Golden Globe® Award-winning Howard Gordon, one of cable's most time-shifted series/season premieres ever.

On a Live+3 basis, the S2 premiere of TYRANT was off -12% compared to the Season 1 average in Total Viewers (2.35 million vs. 2.68 million), and down -10% as compared to the final episode of season 1 in Total Viewers (2.35 million vs. 2.6 million). Compared to the series premiere last year, which aired after the conclusion of the 2014 NBA Finals, the S2 premiere slipped -24% in Total Viewers (2.35 million vs. 3.09 million).

Tyrant airs on FX on Tuesdays at 10 PM e/p. TYRANT is the story of an unassuming American family drawn into the inner workings of a turbulent Middle Eastern nation. Bassam "Barry" Al-Fayeed (Adam Rayner), the youngest son of a war-torn country's controversial dictator, returns to his homeland after a self-imposed 20-year exile in America, only to be forced back into the treacherous familial and national politics of his youth. When his brother, Jamal (Ashraf Barhom), assumes the presidency, Barry becomes a powerful force within the government, fueled by visions of bringing humanitarian freedoms to his homeland. Upon realizing that Jamal lacks any sense of justice or morality, Barry colluded with members of the U.S. government on a failed attempt at overthrowing his tyrannical reign and was arrested on charges of treason. Having been betrayed by the West, Jamal now sets his sights on the East, developing an alliance with China that he hopes will make Abbudin a global power. But Barry continues to be a thorn in Jamal's side, becoming a symbol of freedom for the increasingly vocal insurgency.

In addition to Howard Gordon, Tyrant's Executive Producers are Glenn Gordon Caron, Chris Kyser, Gideon Raff, Avi Nir and Hugh Fitzpatrick. TYRANT is produced by FX Productions and FOX 21 Television Studios.
