The 16th season of HELL'S KITCHEN came to an unforgettable close tonight as host and Head Chef Gordon Ramsay announced Kim Ryan the winner during the season finale. Ryan competed head-to-head against Heather Williams, a sous chef from Easton, PA.
For the final challenge, both talented contestants created their own menus, and led teams of their past competitors through a heated and intense final dinner service. Although it was an extremely close matchup, in the end, it was Ryan and her original, creative and, of course, delicious menu that was victorious!
Kim Ryan's Winning Menu:
Appetizers:
· Bruschetta with Marinated Strawberries, Prosciutto, Herbed Chèvre, Balsamic Reduction and Savory Tuile
· Orzo Risotto with Poached Shrimp, Bacon, Asparagus, Kale and Fine Herbs
· Pan-Seared Scallops with Avocado Purée, Mango, Tomato, Jalapeño, Lime and Cilantro
· Braised Lamb Meatballs with Greek Yogurt Raita and Cilantro
Entrees:
· Airline Chicken Breast with Salsa Verde, Corn Hash, Grilled Pineapple and Charred Scallion
· Braised Pork Belly with Bone Marrow Mashed Potatoes, Crispy Brussels Sprouts, Chimichurri and Apple Cider Vinegar
· Blackened Salmon with Toasted Israeli Couscous, Fennel Apple Slaw and Cherry Chipotle Sauce
· Grilled Filet Mignon with Curried Cauliflower Purée, Braised Kale, Bacon and Morel Red Wine Demi
Desserts:
· Spiced Crème Brulee with Hazelnut Biscotti
· Chocolate Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream, Macadamia Nut Brittle and Salted Caramel Sauce
