CBS EVENING NEWS Anchor and Managing Editor Scott Pelley and FACE THE NATION Anchor and CBS News Political Director John Dickerson will lead CBS News' live primetime coverage of the upcoming political debates (9:00-11:00 PM, ET) on the CBS Television Network. They will be joined by CBS News' experienced team of political journalists, including CBS News Correspondents Nancy Cordes and Major Garrett, who will provide original reporting on the Network's primetime debate coverage, post-debate analysis and all CBS News broadcasts and platforms, including CBSN, CBS News' 24/7 streaming news service. CBS News Contributor Bob Schieffer, who moderated presidential debates in 2004, 2008 and 2012, will provide commentary after the debates during CBS News' coverage and provide analysis on CBSN.
Pelley will anchor the
CBS EVENING NEWS (6:30-7:00 PM, ET) and the Network's live primetime coverage on Monday, Sept. 26, from Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y., for the first presidential debate. Dickerson, Cordes and Garrett will report live from each debate site.
In addition, Dickerson will anchor
FACE THE NATION (check local listings) on Sunday, Oct. 9, live from Washington University in St. Louis for the second presidential debate.
CBSN will offer complete coverage before, during and after each debate, with primetime coverage beginning at 7:00 PM, ET. CBSN's Josh Elliott, Vladimir Duthiers and Reena Ninan will anchor the coverage, and CBSN anchor and
CBS News correspondent Elaine Quijano will moderate the vice presidential debate on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at Longwood University in Farmville, Va. She will lead CBSN's live coverage from the final two presidential debates. Schieffer will join CBSN as a special contributor, and Cordes and Garrett will also contribute to CBSN's coverage live from each debate site. In addition, CBSN will feature a panel of experts and contributors including Jamelle Bouie, Peggy Noonan, Leslie Sanchez and Lynda Tran.
CBS Radio News' coverage will include live anchored coverage and special reports for each debate, as well as other reports and features for
CBS Radio News affiliates.
CBS Radio News will also stream each debate live on its iPhone and Android apps.
CBS Newspath, the Network's 24-hour television newsgathering service for
CBS stations and broadcasters around the world, offers comprehensive coverage of the debates.
CBS Newspath Correspondents Craig Boswell, Weijia Jiang, Jamie Yuccas and Danielle Nottingham will report from the debate sites.
