According to The Hollywood Reporter, Scott Caan is in talks to Barry Levinson's comedy ROCK THE KASBAH in Shia LaBeouf's place. LaBeouf left the project last week.

KASBAH follows "a has-been rock manager who takes his last remaining client on a USO tour of Afghanistan. When he finds himself in Kabul, abandoned, penniless and without his passport, he discovers a young girl with an extraordinary voice and manages her through Afghanistan's version of American Idol, the wildly popular Afghan Star".

The starry cast features Bill Murray, Bruce Willis, Kate Hudson and Danny McBride.

Caan would play "an ammo-dealing con man, who along with his partner (McBride) hustles Murray in war zone Kabul".

Caan has appeared on the big screen in 3 Geezers!, A Beginner's Guide to Endings, Oceans Eleven, Oceans Twelve and Oceans Thirteen, Varsity Blues, Enemy of the State and more. Among Caan's TV credits are Hawaii Five-0, NCIS: Los Angeles and Entourage.
