As first reported on Deadline.com, director Martin Scorsese and actor Leonardo DiCaprio will collaborate once again on the upcoming film THE WOLF OF WALL STREET. Based on the memoir of stockbroker Jordan Belfort, the film will center on the financier's alternative life as a partying, drug addict who, in 1998, was indicted on security fraud and money laundering charges and served a 22-month federal prison sentence.
Scorsese will produce the film along with Emma Tillinger Koskoff, Irwin Winkler, DiCaprio and his Appian Way partner Jennifer Killoran, and Alexandra Milchan. The script will be penned by Terence Winter, the executive produer of The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire.
The film will mark Scorcece's fifth time directing DiCaprio in a film. The duo's other projects include Gangs of New York, The Aviator, the Oscar-winning The Departed and Shutter Island. The director recently received an Oscar nomination for his 3D film Hugo. DiCaprio recently finished filming the title role in Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby.
Shooting on the film is set to begin this August in New York.
