Science Channel continues to provide the most wide ranging and in-depth space programming available and announces today the return of the network's blue-chip series HOW THE UNIVERSE WORKS. The all-new season returns to ask all-new questions about how our universe was put together while revealing the inner workings of our planet, the solar system, the galaxies and the universe itself. HOW THE UNIVERSE WORKS premieres Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 10PM.

The season premiere, Mystery of Planet 9, explores the mysterious ninth planet that lurks in the outer reaches of our solar system. Thought to be 10 times the mass of the Earth, experts including Cal Tech astronomer Mike Brown and Planetary Astrophysicist Konstantin Batygin who discovered this new intriguing planet, explore whether Planet nine is a volcanic super-earth, an icy mega-pluto or a gassy mini-neptune - and whether it has moons with the potential for life. Other contributors include astronomers Michelle Thaller, Phil Plait, Kevin Walsh and planetary scientists Jani Radebaugh and Dan Durda.

Other episodes this season will explore:

· The potential series of devastating mass extinctions on Mars that may have killed off possible life

· How Supermassive Black Holes grow so incredibly huge, and are they cannibals?

· Real-life 'death stars' that hold the ability to destroy planets including earth

· How mysterious DARK MATTER may have engineered the Universe and may have even wiped out the Dinosaurs.

HOW THE UNIVERSE WORKS is produced for Science Channel by Pioneer Productions where Stephen Marsh serves as executive producer. For Science Channel Wyatt Channell is executive producer. Mike Rowe serves as series narrator.
