Science Channel Expands Engineering Slate With All-New Series WORLD'S MOST EPIC & ENGINEERING CATASTROPHES Image

From the bold and brilliant vehicles that drive us forward to the disastrous structural mistakes that require our finest ingenuity to fix, Science Channel's two new series highlight the most complex engineering developments of all time. WORLD'S MOST EPIC, premiering Thursday, April 5 at 9pm ET/PT, reveals the history and technology behind a fleet of remarkable machines from around the world. At 10pm ET/PT, ENGINEERING CATASTROPHES will look at structural mistakes from around the globe and explore the remarkable solutions used to solve them.

"Science Channel's engineering slate shines a spotlight on the incredible science and technological innovation that produces these remarkable, often mind-blowing feats that support our everyday lives and advancements we take for granted," said Lindsey Foster Blumberg, Supervising Producer, Science Channel.

WORLD'S MOST EPIC reveals the technical mysteries and secret history behind airplanes, tanks, ships, cars, trains, and more. They are remarkably powerful and have all had a profound impact on land, water, and air transport. Each episode will focus on a different class of vehicle, ranging from flying giants, to ships unmatched for their cutting-edge technology, to monster tanks, muscular mega cars, and amazing trains. Among those looked at are the king of the paved roads, the Bugatti Chiron; the Pilatus Railway that manages to climb grades of over 40 percent; the CV90, the most modern and versatile infantry fighting tank in the world, and the world's most exclusive business jet that can be booked for $700,000 per hour.

ENGINEERING CATASTROPHES will profile, investigate, analyze, and find solutions for the world's most unbelievable engineering gaffes. From the hilarious to the mind-boggling, from the deadly to the bank-busting, this series showcases some of the most outrageous structural disasters and the genius resolutions to get things back on track. Blunders explored this season include a waterfront building in England that has created a wind tunnel so strong, pedestrians have been blown over; the Carrier Dome in snowy Syracuse that has a soft top roof requiring workers to climb atop with hot water hoses to prevent collapse every time snow falls; a Brazilian highway that is so close to tall buildings that neighborhood residents are concerned about hearing loss.

WORLD'S MOST EPIC is produced for Science Channel by Off The Fence. For Off The Fence, Klaus Proff and Thilo Proff are executive producers. For Science Channel, Neil Laird is executive producer.

ENGINEERING CATASTROPHES is produced for Science Channel by BriteSpark Films. For BriteSpark Films, Nick Godwin is the executive producer. For Science Channel, Lindsey Foster Blumberg is supervising producer.
