Samuel L. Jackson & More Set for Museum of Moving Image Salute to Kevin Spacey

As previously announced, two-time Oscar and Tony Award-winner Kevin Spacey will be honored by Museum of the Moving Image at its 28th annual Salute on April 9, 2014 at 583 Park in New York City.

Recently set to honor and introduce notable scenes from Spacey's wide-ranging and awe-inspiring career are his friends and colleagues Samuel L. Jackson (The Negotiator), Beau Willimon (House of Cards), Denis Leary (The Ref/Recount), Dana Brunetti, Kate Bosworth (Beyond The Sea), Penn Badgley (Margin Call) and Chazz Palminteri (The Usual Suspects), with more to come.

In addition, Museum of the Moving Image is also pleased to announce the prestigious Dinner Chairs who will help make this Salute to Kevin Spacey an unforgettable evening including, Amy Pascal, Ted Sarandos, Dana Brunetti, Steve Mosko, Mahnaz Ispahani Bartos and Adam Bartos, Coralie Charriol Paul and Dennis Paul, and MMI Chairman Herbert S. Schlosser.

Spacey, who has effortlessly segued between acting/producing/directing in film, television, and theater, as well as being ahead of the curve in how we consume media with the hugely successful Netflix series "House of Cards," and self distributing his documentary "NOW: In the Wings on a World Stage" May 2nd via http://www.nowthefilm.com, joins the ranks of past honorees who have received the Museum's Salute, including Clint Eastwood, Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, Robert DeNiro, Goldie Hawn, Alec Baldwin, Dustin Hoffman, Hugh Jackman, Steve Martin, Al Pacino, Sidney Poitier, Jimmy Stewart, Julia Roberts, Martin Scorsese, and Steven Spielberg.

Schlosser stated, "Kevin Spacey is one of our culture's most exciting performers. He has proven his talent and versatility in a wide range of memorable and award-winning roles, and is also an accomplished executive producer and director. This is a great time to be honoring him."

Museum of the Moving Image (movingimage.us) advances the understanding, enjoyment, and appreciation of the art, history, technique, and technology of film, television, and digital media. In its expanded and renovated facilities-acclaimed for both its accessibility and bold design-the Museum presents exhibitions; screenings of significant works; discussion programs featuring actors, directors, craftspeople, and business leaders; and education programs. The Museum also houses a significant collection of moving-image artifacts.

Funds raised from the Salute support the Museum's programs, exhibitions, and educational activities. The education programs, which include curriculum-based tours, screenings, and workshops, serve 50,000 students per year.
