Umbrella Entertainment will distribute the Australian independent film Innuendo theatrically and through other platforms in Australia, New Zealand and the surrounding islands.
Innuendo will join the impressive Umbrella Entertainment line up that boasts films by Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorcese, Roman Polanski, Lars Von Trier, Francis Ford Coppola, Pedro Almodovar and Sofia Coppola to mention but a few.
A stellar cast of classic actors such as Sofia Loren, Marilyn Monroe, Brad Pitt, Robert De Niro, Meryl Streep, Nicholas Cage, Tilda Swinton, Heath Legder, Ingrid Bergman, Julianne Moore and Kate Blanchett appear in the Umbrella Entertainment ensemble. They represent many Oscar winning films, cult classics and Australian favourites.
The composer of Innuendo, Charly Harrison, will be joining his favourite band the Beatles, as Umbrella Entertainment also distributes 'A Hard Day's Night' by the group.
Innuendo, the debut feature of the director Saara Lamberg, has been compared with the works of David Lynch a few times, very fitting, as Umbrella Entertainment also distributes the auteur's debut: Eraserhead.
The writer/director/producer Saara Lamberg: "We couldn't be more excited about working with Umbrella Entertainment. They have all the directors in their books that I admire so it's very humbling for my first film to join the lot. And for an edgy indie like Innuendo to get a theatrical release is just a dream come true. Now I just need to keep making more."
Prior to this deal, Innuendo has been on festivals in Australia and the US, the Cannes Film Market and recently won the Best Film at the FAFF California. Lamberg has started the production of her second feature Westermarck Effect.
