To prepare for the premiere of SYFY's original series KRYPTON and the 1000th issue of DC's seminal comic book series Action Comics, Syfy is giving Superman and DC superfans the chance to put their knowledge to the test with KRYPTON'S FAN OF STEEL LIVE TRIVIA CHALLENGE. The trivia CONTEST will take place on SyFy.com nightly at exactly 8 PM ET/5 PM PT beginning March 12 leading up to KRYPTON's premiere on Wednesday, March 21 at 10/9c.
The online gameshow, hosted by Tiffany Smith ("DC All Access," "Geeking Out") along with special guests from the comic book world such as writer Gail Simone ("Birds of Prey," "Wonder Woman") and writer/artist Brian Michael Bendis ("Ultimate Spider-Man," "Age of Ultron"), will incorporate lore from Krypton, Superman and the larger DC canon. Fans will have a few seconds to respond to multiple choice questions developed by Syfy and award-winning comic book writer Mark Waid ("Kingdom Come") as they compete for the nightly $1,000 grand cash prize.
KRYPTON'S FAN OF STEEL LIVE TRIVIA CHALLENGE will run every night from Monday, March 12 through Wednesday, March 21 at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT at fanofsteel.syfy.com.
What if Superman never existed? Set two generations before the destruction of Superman's home planet, KRYPTON follows Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe), the legendary Man of Steel's grandfather, as a young man who is faced with a life and death conflict - save his home planet or let it be destroyed in order to restore the fate of his future grandson. With Krypton's leadership in disarray and the House of El ostracized, Seg finds himself in a difficult position. He must redeem his family's honor and protect the ones he loves while being challenged by familiar DC characters Brainiac (Blake Ritson) and Earthly time-traveler Adam Strange (Shaun Sipos).
From Warner Horizon Scripted Television, KRYPTON is executive produced by David S. Goyer ("Man of Steel," "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," "The Dark Knight Trilogy") through his Phantom Four banner, alongside Cameron Welsh, who serves as showrunner. In addition to Cuffe, Sipos and Ritson, the show also stars Georgina Campbell ("Broadchurch"), Elliot Cowan ("Da Vinci's Demons"), Ann Ogbomo ("World War Z"), Rasmus Hardiker ("Your Highness"), Wallis Day ("Will"), Aaron Pierre ("Tennison") and Ian McElhinney ("Game of Thrones"). Based on the DC characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
