Stringwire, a feature-rich new contender in live video streaming, debuts today as the official live streaming partner of eMerge Americas, a global technology and innovation event that runs May 1-5 in Miami, Florida.
Stringwire is a technology startup within the NBCUniversal News Group, designed to empower other newsmakers - whether professional reporters or citizen stringers - to live stream and share video of events in real time. The mobile app allows streamers to set up a pop-up TV channel, invite others to stream live to it, and manage which live stream is broadcast.
In order to reach as broad an audience as possible, all content streamed to Stringwire is available for reuse under a content license inspired by the Creative Commons CC-BY license.
Beyond delivering fast, real-time video from many devices, version 2.0 of Stringwire iOS app, just released on the Apple App Store, offers real-time chat
BETWEEN streamers and viewers, push notifications when named users are streaming, and the ability to watch live streaming video from within the app.
Stringwire's pop-up TV capability also lets users stream from more devices than any other streaming platform, including iPhone, Android, WebRTC, GoPros, and DJI and Parrot drones. In addition, it offers landscape video streaming and simultaneous HD-quality video storage on a local device.
"Stringwire is a live streaming video platform that helps people share what is important in their lives and engage with others," said Mark Graham, Stringwire Co-Founder and General Manager. "We are thrilled to use Stringwire to help connect and share the spirit and content of the eMerge Americas conference."
