Variety reports that NBC has drafted STATE OF AFFAIRS to series. The CIA drama stars Katherine Heigl and comes from executive producer and writer/director Joe Carnahan (The Blacklist).

The drama centers on a key CIA attaché (Heigl) who "counsels the president on high-stakes incidents around the world." Alfre Woodard (12 Years a Slave) will take on the role of Commander in Chief.
Also in the cast are Adam Kaufman, Sheila Vand, Cliff Chamberlain, Tommy Savas and Leslie Odom, Jr.
Alexi Hawley and Carnahan will excutive produce along with Heigl, Bob Simonds, Henry Crumpton and Julia Franz.
