STAGE17, Chairman David Stoller (Executive Chairman of Reach4Entertainment), and President and Executive Producer Ondine Landa Abramson are pleased to present Season 2 of Upright Citizen's Brigade (UCB) alums Michael Kayne and D'Arcy Carden's Terrible Babysitters. STAGE17, a new digital entertainment destination for episodic fiction and reality programming, launched the series on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, and will release the subsequent episodes each Wednesday through May 14, 2014. Visit: http://stage17.tv/series/terrible-babysitters.
The only thing standing between Michael, D'arcy and a well-deserved night out on the town is finding a competent babysitter. NYC might be a city known for its oddballs, but with a population of 8.3 million, surely there must be at least one babysitter who isn't, well, terrible?
Season Two stars a slate of fantastic comedians such as Nicole Byer (MTV's Girl Code) as a women deathly afraid of seahorses,
Chris Kelly (Funny Or Die, Onion, SNL) who believes he is famous, Abbi Jacobson (Broad City) who actually hates kids, the wizardly Neil Casey (SNL), and two brothers who just aren't right for the job
Brandon Scott Jones and Conner O'Malley (College Humor, Chicago Just for Laughs).
D'ARCY CARDEN (creator/writer/director/actor) began taking improv class at the Upright Citizens Brigade in 2004 and was instantly hooked. She is an original member of the team Stone Cold Fox, which now has the honor of being the longest running sketch team at UCBNY. She can be seen performing at both UCBNY and UCBLA, in shows like Gentrify, The Curfew and ASSSSCAT 3000. She has also had the opportunity to perform all across the country as a member of the UCB Touring Company.
D'Arcy doesn't always do live performances. Sometimes she does comedy in front of cameras, like in the web series: Hello Dum Dum, Rhonda Casting, and Terrible Babysitters (co-written by and co-starring Michael Kayne). You can also see her in a bunch of comedy videos on Funny or Die. She was in the movie The To-Do List, and has recently appeared on Comedy Bang Bang for IFC, and
Inside Amy Schumer and Broad City, both on Comedy Central.
MICHAEL CRUZ KAYNE (creator/director/actor) is a Filipino-American comedian who performs, writes, and produces at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City. At UCB, Michael has had the honor of improvising alongside
Amy Poehler,
Rachel Dratch, Jason Mantzoukas and countless other mainstays of the comedy community. He has performed in web videos for Improv Everywhere, Funny Or Die, Above Average, reddit, or College Humor. He has written for Billy On The Street or @midnight. A pilot he co-wrote and starred in, Good Dads, was recently screened at NYTVF.
In his non-comedy life, Michael is a private tutor and will be featured in the soon-to-be-released book, The
Perfect Score Project. His blog on education,
syoushouldknow.tumblr.com, has been endorsed by Steven Strogatz and Techcrunch.com, among others.
STAGE17 was formed by Chairman
David Stoller (Executive Chairman of Reach4Entertainment) and President and Executive Producer
Ondine Landa Abramson, as a new digital platform aiming "to lure a demographic of 25-to-54-year-old females by using Broadway as a jumping-off point," (Variety) by specializing in original and curated entertainment for the world's largest stage -- the Internet. STAGE17 presents a digital experience for audiences where quality, originality, and ease of use are paramount. It is aimed at a growing community of tech-savvy individuals, with a strong interest in theater and entertainment, for whom there is currently no dedicated digital platform. As a digital playground for Broadway, improv, and theatrical artists, STAGE17 will explore the art of storytelling, both scripted and unscripted, from masters in the craft.
Viewers can currently join
