STAGE TUBE: IDOL's Phillip Phillips Debuts New Original Song 'Take Me Away'

AMERICAN IDOL winner Phillip Phillips debuted his new original song, "Take Me Away" in front of a small audience of radio listeners at Mix 106.1 in Philadelphia yesterday. Following the performance, the singer posted the video on his Twitter account with the message, "I know you guys have been wanting an original.. here's one. hope ya like it." Check out the performance below!

Phillip Phillips earned his first gold record for his single "Home," which sold more than 523,477 units, surpassing the 500,000 number required for a gold record. The single was co-written and produced by Drew Pearson. It was recently featured on NBC during the broadcast of the U.S. Woman's Gymnastics Olympic competition. 

Phillips will be a guest on the premiere week of ABC's LIVE! morning talk show on September 4th.
