Deadline writes that Denis Villenueve's drama SICARIO will hit theaters in a limited release on September 18, 2015, starring Emily Blunt, Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin. Lionsgate will go wide with the film on September 25.
Written by Taylor Sheridan, SICARIO centers on Blunt as "an idealistic FBI agent who is exposed to the brutal world of international drug trafficking by members of a government task force (Brolin, Del Toro) who have enlisted her in their plan to take out a Mexican cartel boss." Also in the cast is Jon Bernthal.
Blunt last starred in the big screen adaptation of INTO THE WOODS. Among her other upcoming projects are BARTON & CHARLIE & CHECCO & BILL and THE HUNTSMAN. Among her past film credits are EDGE OF TOMORROW, THE WIND RISES, ARTHUR NEWMAN, LOOPER, THE YOUNG VICTORIA, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA and more.
