SeeFlik, the creator of online film competitions for emerging filmmakers to showcase their work, is pleased to announce the winners of their initial Judges Choice and Fan's Favorite competition's. The winning film from the Judges Choice competition is Beholden, a drama from filmmaker David Jibladze who is a recent graduate of Chapman University. The Fan's Favorite winning selection is the criminal drama, Cadet from filmmaker and Arizona State alumni, Ryan Steiner.
By winning their respective competitions, Jibladze and Steiner each won a $7,500 cash prize and qualified for the Best Overall Short Film, which was won by Jibladze. In doing so, Jibladze earned an additional $20,000 bonus, totaling $27,500 for his work on Beholden. Best Overall Short Film was determined by a combination of results from both the Judges Choice and Fan's Favorite competitions.
The prize package for the winners also includes coming to Los Angeles to meet with industry veteran, David Greenblatt. Greenblatt, who helped start Endeavor, will work with both Jibladze and Steiner to prepare them for industry showcases set for them at agencies and studios in Hollywood.
David Greenblatt said, "SeeFlik was created to give emerging filmmakers a chance to have their short films showcased to audiences that otherwise would not see them while serving as an initial launching point for their careers. David and Ryan have proven themselves to be excellent story tellers and I look forward to helping them convert their passion into their livelihood."
The Judges Choice winner and finalists were determined by SeeFlik's panel of esteemed-judges who based their decision on script, production value and overall quality of content. Judges include Michael London (Sideways), Shane Black (Lethal Weapon), Angelo Pizzo (Hoosiers), Keir Pearson (Hotel Rwanda), Robert Kamen (Karate Kid) and Suzanne de Passe (Lonesome Dove) and Luis Guzman (How to Make it in America).
The runner up to Beholden in the Judges Choice competition is the romantic drama, The Man Who Never Cried, by filmmaker and UT-Austin alumni, Bradley Jackson. Representing a strong contingency from Chapman University was Winston Tao, whose 15-minute film titled Wash Me finished third. In doing so, Jackson and Tao will receive $5,000and $2,500 respectively.

In the Fan's Favorite competition, the historical drama Injuns¸ from filmmaker Christopher Meyers made it a 1-2 finish for alumni from Arizona State. Rounding out the top three is Camp Chapel, a romantic comedy from University of Michigan graduate, Bhanu Chundu. Meyers and Chandu will receive $5,000and $2,500 respectively.
Initially set up to be exclusive to students currently attending and those who have graduated within five years of an accredited film school, SeeFlik first competition attracted filmmakers representing more than 80 colleges and universities nationwide. True to their mission of giving emerging filmmakers a chance to showcase their films to a wide audience in a competitive film festival environment, SeeFlik will be expanding their competitions to include all legal residents the United States who have the desire to tell a story through the art of filmmaking.
