SARAH Q To World Premiere At Golden Door International Film Fest

Sarah Q, the new independent feature film from award-winning director John Gallagher (The Deli, The Networker) will have its world premiere at the prestigious Golden Door International Film Festival in Jersey City on Friday September 21. The screening takes place at 7 PM at historic White Eagle Hall, 337 Newark Avenue in Jersey City.

The movie is described as a serio-comic tale of a young girl's struggle to succeed at a Manhattan acting conservatory, scripted by Gallagher and Joe Benedetto from Gallagher's original story. Acclaimed film author J. L. Neibaur, in an advance review in his column "The Current Cinema," called Sarah Q "one of the most creative and entertaining films of the year."

Sarah Q boasts an impressive cast of veterans, including Garry Pastore ("Matty the Horse" on HBO's The Deuce), The Sopranos stars Tony Sirico ("Paulie Walnuts"), Vincent Pastore ("Big Pussy"), Federico Castelluccio ("Furio"), and William DeMeo ("Jason Molinaro"), along with Academy Award nominees Burt Young (the Rocky films) and Sally Kirkland (Anna),

Sarah Q features newcomers Emmy James and Ashlee Macropoulos in their starring debuts. Ms. James and Ms. Macropoulos studied with Gallagher in his acclaimed One on One acting class, and he crafted their parts specifically for them. "Ashlee and Emmy have what it takes for great careers, talent, smarts and complete dedication to their craft" says Gallagher, who helped launch the careers of such actors as John Leguizamo, Amanda Peet, Denis Leary, Zach Braff, Matthew Lillard, and Gretchen Mol..

Sarah Q is produced by Goddess Girl Films, and was filmed last February in Long Island City, Manhattan, and River Edge, New Jersey. The movie will be released in early 2019.
