The Screen Actors Guild Foundation announced Sofia Vergara will receive the inaugural Actors Inspiration Award, to be presented at its 6th Annual Los Angeles Golf Classic on Monday, June 8th. As part of the SAG Foundation's 30th anniversary celebration, they are launching the honor to recognize Vergara as a SAG-AFTRA member who has given back to fellow actors and the community at large. In addition, the Modern Family star has a long history of supporting nonprofits and children's organizations, including St. Jude and her foundation in her home country of Colombia.
The SAG Foundation is a national nonprofit that supports union performers with vital assistance and free educational programs and inspires millions of children worldwide through its signature children's literacy programs. The Foundation's annual L.A. Golf Classic, where celebrity golfers and entertainment industry executives raise money for the nonprofit's Catastrophic Health Fund and Emergency Assistance programs, benefit SAG-AFTRA professionals and their families in times of urgent need.

Since 1985, the SAG Foundation has granted more than $17 million in financial and medical assistance including $6 million in scholarships to SAG-AFTRA members and their dependents. In addition, the Foundation has offered 4,800 free educational workshops, panels and screenings to union performers nationwide and its children's literacy programs have brought the love of reading to more than 65 million children worldwide.
The SAG Foundation L.A. Golf Classic is an annual celebrity golf tournament and fundraiser with more than 125 actors and entertainment industry executives expected to participate in the 2015 event. Scott Wolf (Perception, Party of Five) and Brendan Fehr (Roswell, CSI: Miami), who both currently star in NBC's The Night Shift, serve as hosts for the annual the fundraiser.
