In recognition of its creative environmental efforts, the Screen Actors Guild Awards® has been honored for the sixth consecutive year with the Environmental Media Association (EMA)'s Green Seal. Presented at the 24th Annual EMA Awards on Saturday, Oct. 18 at Warner Brothers Studio, the accolade recognizes the outstanding green initiatives of the 20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards®. The SAG Awards®. is the only special event to have received the Green Seal for six consecutive years.
In 2013, the SAG Awards® was also honored with EMA's 2013 Green Production Award. This honor provided recognition for the SAG Awards® amongst its peers for its environmentally progressive operations and ability to surpass its green efforts year after year.
The EMA Green Seal Program was created to promote responsible production methods and provide recognition for industry professionals that have made strides by embracing such practices. The Program's criteria provides a practical and comprehensive guide to eco-friendly film, television, award show and gala production. The Program is based on a self-assessment by the production company on how well it complies with the Program criteria developed by EMA and Green Seal.
SAG Awards executives recognized by EMA for spearheading the production's environmental efforts were Executive Producer Kathy Connell, Awards Supervising Producer Jon Brockett, Coordinating Producer Cynthia Kistler, Production Manager Chris Carr and Executive in Charge of Publicity Rosalind Jarrett Sepulveda.
The SAG Awards production team is committed to continuing its environmental practices for the 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, which will be simulcast live on TNT and TBS on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015. About the 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards®
Lauded by critics for its style, simplicity and genuine warmth, the Screen Actors Guild Awards® (SAG Awards®) annually celebrates the outstanding performances in motion pictures and television from the previous calendar year.
