Oscar(R) and Emmy(R) nominated actress Rosie Perez will guest star in one episode of the fourth season of NURSE JACKIE. Perez will play a patient named Jules with an unusual diagnosis. Production on season four is currently underway in New York for a 2012 premiere.
Perez was discovered by Spike Lee who hired her for his 1989 film "Do the Right Thing," Other film roles include "White Men Can't Jump" and "Untamed Heart." She was nominated for an Academy Award for her dramatic turn in the 1993 film "Fearless" opposite Jeff Bridges. On television, Perez earned three Emmy nominations as a choreographer for the show "In Living Color." In addition to her acting, Perez is active in many special projects and causes.
NURSE JACKIE, which has received both critical and audience acclaim, stars Emmy and Golden Globe(R) winner Edie Falco, who just this past season received an Emmy in the "Comedy" category for her lead role. NURSE JACKIE also stars Eve Best, Merritt Wever, Paul Schulze, Dominic Fumusa, Anna Deavere Smith, Ruby Jerins, Mackenzie Aladjem, and Peter Facinelli. Arjun Gupta, Lenny Jacobson and Stephen Wallem guest star. Bobby Cannavale will be a special guest star this season. Liz Brixius and Linda Wallem write and executive produce the series. Richie Jackson and Caryn Mandabach serve as executive producers. The series is a co-production of SHOWTIME and Lionsgate.
