Rosie O'Donnell, Michelle Rounds Tie the Knot!

People.com reports that Rosie O'Donnell and fianceé Michelle Rounds tied the knot in a secret ceremony on June 9th in New York. O'Donnell's rep Cindi Berger revealed the news commenting, "They got married but they haven't had the wedding celebration." 

The Broadway vet and talk show host shared the joyful news on her blog, writing, "We married in private before [Michelle's] surgery, just the [two] of us. When we r both well enough will have the wedding of r dreams surrounded by those we cherish." She continued, "Thankful for the love and support so many have given us during these trying times. Including all of u stranger-friends connected thru invisible strands of wi fi."

O'Donnell, who last week revealed she had a suffered a heart attack, announced her engagement to Rounds in December of last year. The couple was originally to be wed this month but changed their plans after Rounds was diagnosed with desmoid tumors, a rare disease that affects three out of every million people. Rounds underwent her first surgery on June 14th.

Explained Berger, "It is such a rare tumor. It took them quite a while to get an accurate diagnosis. She had several gastrointestinal surgeries to remove the desmoid turmors. She is now on the road to recovery."

It was recently announced that O'Donnell and Rounds would help to raise awareness for desmoid tumors by participating in the annual DTRF Running for Answers 5K, which will be held in Philadelphia on October 21. The couple plans to match all donations made to Michelle’s fundraising page.

O'Donnell most recently appeared as Golde in the Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof; she had previously appeared on Broadway in Seussical (as The Cat in the Hat) and in Grease (as Rizzo). O'Donnell, who began her career as a stand-up comedian, also produced the Boy George musical Taboo, and film and TV credits include Tarzan, Harriet the Spy, Now and Then, Exit to Eden, A League of Their Own, Sleepless in Seattle, "Will & Grace," and "Queer as Folk."
