KILL THE MESSENGER follows real-life, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Gary Webb, who exposed the CIA's involvement in Nicaragua's Contra rebel cocaine imports into California in the '80s. The CIA attempted to skirt the accusations, and Webb was found shot in the head twice. It was said he "committed suicide".
The film is aiming to begin production in August in Atlanta. DeWitt was last seen in Promised Land and Touch Feely, and will next be seen in The Dramatics. Past credits include The Odd Life of Timothy Green, The Company Men, Rachel Getting Married and Cinderella Man, as well as TV's The Newsroom, United States of Tara, Mad Men and Standoff.Photo Credit: Walter McBride
