Rosario Dawson will join the cast of Zombieland 2, which stars original cast members Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, and Abigail Breslin, according to Variety. Zoey Deutch will also co-star in the Sony Pictures sequel.
Ruben Fleischer, who directed the original "Zombieland", returns to direct the seqeul. Fleischer will reunite with original writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, who worked together on "Deadpool" films.
In the sequel, the zombie killers must face off against new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. They have to also face the growing pains of their own makeshift family.
"Zombieland 2" begins production this week and will be released in theaters on the 10th anniversary of the release of the original film, October 11th. The first film grossed $102.4 million worldwide on a $23 million budget.
Dawson is currently best-known for playing Claire Temple in Netflix's Marvel series "Jessica Jones," "Luke Cage," "Daredevil," "The Defenders," and "Iron Fist."
