According to The Hollywood Reporter, 'The Office' workers will be joined by a slew of guest stars for their season finale.
Ray Romano ('Everybody Loves Raymond'), Catherine Tate ('Doctor Who'), and James Spader ('Boston Legal') will join Ricky Gervais, Will Arnett, and Will Ferrell for the popular show's hourlong episode.
Ferrell made his Broadway debut taking on departing U.S. President George W. Bush in a one-man show called You're Welcome America: A Final Night with George W. Bush. Spader's latest stage role is in Race, a play written and directed by David Mamet, in which he starred alongside Richard Thomas, David Alan Grier and Kerry Washington. Tate's theatre credits include Neil LaBute's Some Girls at the Gielgud Theatre, The Exonerated at Riverside Studios, A Servant to Two Masters for the Royal Shakespeare Company and The Prince's Play and The Way of the World for the National Theatre.
The Office is an American comedy television series broadcast by NBC. An adaptation of the BBC series of the same name, it depicts the everyday lives of office employees in the Scranton, Pennsylvania branch of the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. To simulate the look of an actual documentary, it is filmed in a single-camera setup, without a studio audience or a laugh track. It airs at 9PM on Thursdays on NBC.
The show's longtime star, Steve Carell, is set to depart after this season. Executive producer Paul Lieberstein has said, "We found Steve Carell when he was nothing but a movie star and we turned him into a television star. We are proud to continue The Office's tradition of discovering famous talent."
Will one of the guest stars take over where Carell leaves off? Find out when the episode airs May 19th.
