When "Rock Center with BrIan Williams" returns on Thursday, June 7 at 10p/9c, its time slot this summer and into the fall, the newsmagazine will "do what it does best - profile remarkable people and deliver groundbreaking stories that touch lives."
Esteemed sportscaster and former professional tennis player Mary Carillo will tell the story of Oscar Pistorius, often referred to as the Blade Runner. A world champion sprinter who is likely to be one of the biggest stories of the upcoming London Olympics; he is the embodiment of Life Without Limitations.
A double amputee, Pistorius is the first ever Paralympian to win Gold in each of the 100m, 200m and 400m sprints (Beijing 2008) and his international reputation as the "fastest man on no legs" is gaining momentum with every race. Now he intends to go head-to-head with able-bodied runners in the 400m, on the biggest stage on earth. Carillo sits down with Pistorius to talk about the challenges he's overcome on the road to the 2012 London games.
