ABC News and PEOPLE magazine collaborate for the third straight year on an entertaining two-hour Primetime broadcast special featuring details of all the big stories and news events of the past year.
From the Boston Marathon bombing and Cleveland kidnapping, to the George Zimmerman and Jodi Arias trials -- from twerking to binge-watching -- from a new Pope and a new Royal baby, to the headline-making celebrity romantic breakups and shakeups -- from the breakout heroes like Malala, who inspired the nation and the world -- to the public figures who fell from grace, as well as the icons who said goodbye, 2013 has been an eventful year. Anchored by Robin Roberts and featuring reports from her "GMA" Co-Anchors George Stephanopoulos, Josh Elliot, Lara Spencer, and Ginger Zee, "Nightline" Anchors Cynthia McFadden, Dan Abrams, and Dan Harris, and "20/20" Co-Anchor David Muir, reports will include interviews with newsmakers, celebrities, and other guests who have a uniquely humorous take on the past year's top stories. "The Year" airs TONIGHT, DECEMBER 19, (9:00 - 11:00 p.m., ET) on the
ABC Television Network.
The broadcast will air the night before PEOPLE releases its annual "Best (and Worst!) of 2013" special double issue, and will also feature humorous and enlightening commentary from PEOPLE magazine's Editor Larry Hackett and Deputy Managing Editor Peter Castro, along with Kate Coyne and Michelle Tan.
John Green is the executive producer of "The Year."
