New York--Robert Scott Wilson or Rob Wilson, erstwhile Peter "Pete" Courtlandt on ABC's daytime soap "All My Children" and the first-ever male model on CBS' longtime game show "The Price is Right," is set to debut as Ben Rogers in the Daytime Emmy Award-winning soap Days of our Lives today, 1 p.m., on NBC.
The role of Ben, formerly played by Justin Gaston ("Game Change," "Glee,"), is the younger brother of physical therapist Jordan Ridgeway, played by Chrishell Stause ("All My Children").
According to SoapOperaNetwork.com, the role of Ben has been recast when Gaston's 13-week contract cycle was not renewed. Wilson has been taping for the NBC soap since January.
"Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives," For nearly 50 years, those words from the opening billboard of one of the most enduring daytime dramas, NBC's DAYS OF OUR LIVES, have been pervading our living rooms. Days of our Lives originally premiered as a half-hour drama in 1965, and expanded to an hour daily broadcast 10 years later.
The soap, produced by Corday Productions Inc., in association with Sony Pictures Television, is set in the fictitious Midwestern town of Salem, whose core families the Bradys, the Hortons, and the DiMeras become intertwined in multi-layered storylines, written by Gary Tomlin ("All My Children," "Another World") and Christopher Whitesell ("As The World Turns," "The Young and the Restless").
Days of our Lives has been nominated 215 times, winning 32, at the Daytime Emmy Awards.
