On Monday, October 17th Dr. Oz sits down with Rob Lowe who reveals the moment he saved his own life and his secrets for looking so young at 52.

On his sobriety journey, Lowe says: "Unfortunately, it's like being pregnant. You either are or you're not. And then on top of that, that actually becomes the easy part, is giving it all up. It's the stuff underneath it that makes you want to do it in the first place, that you have to address, and that's a lifelong process. It sounds like homework, eating your vegetables. Right now it sounds like something that is good for you, but doesn't sound like much fun. But the truth of it is, it's an exhilarating journey. It really is, to continue to dig in and grow and learn things about yourself."

On sharing his wisdom with Charlie Sheen on facing their demons: "Charlie and I, we're running mates in the day. I've known Charlie since he was 13. I have had many a conversation with Mr. Sheen. And, this can be a hard issue for some. For me, it was very easy. I mean, when I was done, I was done. And every great thing that's happened in my life, I can trace back to that decision."

On what he learned about life and his own health from losing his mother, Lowe says: "You learn that thing that is--it's almost clichéd and trite, but it really is like that lyric in that great Beatles song. In the end, the love that you take is equal to the love that you make. And I was very much struck with all of our worries and all of our grand plans don't mean a hill of beans at the end. It's your memories and your love and your relationships and your human connections. And it's a great gift that she was able to give me at the end."
