Broadway-bound Ricky Martin will travel to GLEE's McKinley High to play 'the hottest Spanish teacher ever in the history of Ohio,' in an upcoming episode. Broadway veteran Matthew Morrison recently told Access Hollywood that Martin will take on LMFAO's 'I'm Sexy and I Know It' in the episode.
He added: 'He came onto the show because my [character’s] Spanish speaking skills were coming into question, so I started attending night school and he was my teacher. He was my Spanish teacher. I go to night school now because I need to know how to speak Spanish so I can teach Spanish.'
Martin will soon star as Ché alongside Elena Roger and Michael Cerveris in the upcoming Broadway production of EVITA. Olivier Award winner Michael Grandage and Tony Award winner Rob Ashford will also return to direct and choreograph, respectively. This is the first new Broadway production of the seven-time Tony Award-winning musical since it debuted on Broadway more than 30 years ago.
Now in its third season, GLEE is a musical comedy about a group of eager and ambitious students who strive to outshine their singing competition to win Nationals while navigating the cruel halls of McKinley High. Since its debut, GLEE has become a bona fide cultural phenomenon, received prestigious honors including the Golden Globe and Peabody Award and singlehandedly made glee clubs cool again.
