Debbie Reynolds will play Grandma Mazur in 'One For The Money,' the upcoming film adaptation of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series, Deadline reports.

Katherine Heigl, who will play bounty hunter Stephanie Plum, said, "Grandma Mazur is such a great character...She's really feisty and the one who's a real mentor to Stephanie Plum. We needed somebody for the part who would speak her mine and even be a little edgy. We approached Debbie Reynolds because she has that 'Molly Brown' as a contemporary grandmother. She's so perfect for the part. Then she read it, loved it and joined immediately."

The film, which will be directed by Julie Anne Robinson, will also star Jason O'Mara, Daniel Sunjata, John Leguizamo, and Sherri Shepherd.  'One For The Money' is due to be released in 2011.

Debbie Reynolds's many film credits include 'Singin' in the Rain,' 'The Catered Affair,' 'The Unsinkable Molly Brown,' and 'Tammy and the Bachelor.'  Her television appearances include 'The Debbie Reynolds Show' and 'Will and Grace.'
