Regis Philbin's Farewell Appearance on LIVE! Delivers High Ratings

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the final appearance of talk show host Regis Philbin on the ABC morning show LIVE! WITH REGIS AND KELLY delievered huge ratings for the network.  Last Friday's show pulled in a 7.7 household rating and a whopping 23% of households in the nation were tuned in to the special farewell episode. 

While this was a lower household rating than talk queen Oprah Winfrey's farewell episode last May, only 13.5% of Americans watched Winfrey say goodbye to a national audience. 

Among those celebrities who made an appearance on last Friday's show in a taped presentation were  Justin Timberlake, Anne Hathaway and Emma Stone.  In addition to a heartfelt presentation by co-host Kelly Ripa, NY Mayor Bloomberg honored Philbin with a key to the city.  

In his final week on the show, Philbin was joined by close friends such as Kathie Lee Gifford and David Letterman.  For the week, the shows averaged a 4.8 household rating with a 15 share.
