Showbiz411 reports that viewers may soon see talk show co-hosts Regis Philbin and Kathie Lee Gifford team up for the final hour of NBC's 'Today.' Philbin recently filled in for vacationing co-host Hoda Kotb on the show.
Rumors abound that Kotb may be the most likely candidate to replace exiting anchorwoman Ann Curry on 'Today', leaving Gifford with a vacant seat next to her. Philbin, who exited his long-time post on ABC's Live! With Regis & Kelly, is reportedly eager to get back on the air in a full-time gig.
According to a source, “NBC would love the publicity. And they’ll probably give him any deal he wants–three or four days a week, lots of vacation.” I’m told this is really happening. “And it’s not like ABC can be mad. Regis and Kathie Lee won’t be competing with Kelly Ripa at 9am. It’s an hour later.”
